What’s up, everybody! Tomorrow (2/5) will mark one month of my living in Kona, Hawaii. This month has been amazing. As mentioned before the first 3 months of my time with YWAM are classroom training. This first month has been so busy but unbelievably fruitful. The Lord is teaching me some amazing new things.
On day one I walked up the stairs to enter the base and I met Georgie, Natalie, and Josh. They explained that they are planning on pioneering a base in Canterbury, England (about 45 min south of London). For those of you who don’t know, coming into YWAM I was planning on doing my outreach in Central America, or at least that was what I was wanting, but the second I met the team God started to reveal that he had some other plans.
After all of the outreaches were officially announced, I wrestled with the Lord but he made it clear that for my outreach I was to move back to England and help this new team pioneer a base in Canterbury.
God never ceases to surprise me. I was planning on doing only a 2-month outreach and coming home in June but God has directed me to do an extended outreach that will last until mid-august.
My outreach will consist of 3 months in Canterbury, England, where we will build relationships with churches, run youth clubs, and go into schools. Actually lots of things that I was doing last year in Teeside, but in order to develop a lasting impact between the new YWAM Canterbury and the people of the town. The idea is that in the next 2-3 years the base will be hosting discipleship training schools and sending out missionaries to the nations.
THEN (and this is where God surprises me all the more) I will be moving from England to do ministry in the Philippines for a 1 month and 3 weeks. Our team has talked with the team in the Philippines and both teams believe strongly that the Lord wants to create a strong connection between YWAM Canterbury and YWAM Philipines. How? I don’t really know yet, but The Holy Spirit is continuing to reveal new things and we are trusting his leadership.
In the Philippines, my team and I will be focused on ministry to the isolated. Bringing Bibles to small islands off the coast of Mindanao, the southernmost island of the Philipines. These people have little to no connection to the outside world and can only be reached by boat. Thanks to previous missionaries, most of these small islands have heard the gospel but they need more resources. Both spiritual and medical resources.
I know it can all sound a little confusing but I will be releasing more details as I get them.
The main points for now:
I will be helping to pioneer a base in Canterbury, England from April to the end of June
Then from there, I will be serving in the Philipines from early July to mid-August.
Again, it is even a little confusing to me but I know full-heartedly that this is what the Lord wants me to do.
Because it is an extended outreach I may be reaching out about some more financial support in order to cover the cost of the extra time and flights. I would ask you to please begin to pray for my finances and if you feel like the Lord is leading you to give please reach out. I don’t have an exact number at this time but I will be sending more information ASAP.
Please also be praying for my team as we are all discerning where God wants us and what he wants us to do. I am having a great time in Hawaii and I can’t see what God does throughout this year.
Love yall!
